Lee Bank Transforms Empty Lot into Sustainable Urban Green Space

Pittsfield, MA – June 27, 2024 – Lee Bank is pleased to announce the completion of the transformation of the empty lot behind its newest location at 180 South Street into a vibrant, sustainable urban green space. This initiative marks a significant milestone as Lee Bank celebrates the first anniversary of its new Pittsfield branch.

Dedicated to both exceptional financial services and community enhancement, Lee Bank's commitment to sustainable development is exemplified by the creation of this urban green space. In collaboration with Greenagers, a local non-profit that engages teens and young adults in vocations focused on sustainable farming and environmental conservation, Lee Bank has brought this project to fruition through a joint effort aimed at benefiting the local community.

The transformation project includes the installation of raised gardens, planned and constructed by Greenagers work crews. These raised garden beds are currently utilized by Lee Bank tenants and the neighboring non-profit organization Volunteers in Medicine (VIM). They provide a valuable opportunity for both groups to cultivate their own vegetables, flowers, and herbs, fostering a greener and more sustainable environment.

"We are thrilled to unveil this sustainable urban green space as part of our ongoing commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship," said Chuck Leach, President & CEO of Lee Bank. "The collaboration with Greenagers has been instrumental in realizing this vision, and we look forward to seeing how this space positively impacts our tenants and neighbors."

Lee Bank remains dedicated to initiatives that promote community well-being. The transformation of the empty lot into a lively green space is a testament to Lee Bank's values and its role as a responsible corporate citizen.
