Linda Clairmont leads workforce development initiatives at Berkshire Community College, aligning training programs with regional priorities in health care, clean energy, education, manufacturing, and IT. Before joining BCC in 2024, she served nearly 20 years as an elected official in Pittsfield, including eight years as Mayor. Her tenure focused on job creation, housing, and economic revitalization—securing $12 million for the Berkshire Innovation Center and launching a $1 million COVID-19 recovery program for small businesses. As steward of Pittsfield’s $43 million in federal ARPA funds, she led a comprehensive, community-driven investment strategy prioritizing housing, homelessness, and economic resilience. Her efforts earned her the 2024 Canon Brian S. Kelley Public Service Award.

Her past affiliations include the Massachusetts City Clerks’ Association, the MassINC Gateway Cities Neighborhood Stabilization Working Group, and service as a Notary Public and Justice of the Peace. She is a graduate of Bay Path College and an alumna of the Leadership Institute for Public Policy and Impact.
